Rzywno near Labischen, Kreis Schubin, Posen

Rzywno is a village just north of Labischen. It is important to me as the Podjan family lived there for several generations prior to their migration to Volhynia, Canada, and ultimately Michigan. Click her for the genealogy of the Podjan family.

This village may have been established by the powerful Skorzewski family, a Polish Noble Family; see the Labischen web page for details. As with their other villages, this village was established on sandy soil that could be used for flax production. Here is a picture of this village and of its shrine:
