The records of University of Leipzig where Martin matriculated in 1572 say he is from Grossenheim. He was kantor in Grossenhain and is likely to have contact with Georg Fabricius in Meissen who was developing the music Lutherans would use. Martin's child were also likely to have gone to Latin school in Grossenhain which was rebuilt in 1556.
